A Night of Purpose and Celebration at the 14th Annual NewRoads Girls Night Out

On March 6, 2025, the NewRoads Performing Arts Centre came alive with the sparkle of New York City for the 14th Annual NewRoads Girls Night Out. With this year’s theme, A Night at the Plaza Hotel, guests stepped into an elegant, city-inspired setting in honour of International Women’s Day. From the moment guests were greeted by doormen in white gloves and top hats, it was clear that the evening was designed to impress. The main lobby resembled a stylish hotel lounge, complete with wine, creative appetizers from A Million Mouthfuls Catering, and photo stations that captured the night’s glitz and fun.

Beyond the glamour, Girls Night Out carried a meaningful purpose - to support Girls Inc., a nonprofit organization that empowers young women across North America to be strong, smart, and bold. All event proceeds went toward providing mentorship, education, and advocacy programs that help girls navigate challenges and reach their full potential.

The night also spotlighted women in business, with more than 20 women-owned vendors showcasing their products. Guests shopped, mingled, and participated in a series of exciting raffles, all made possible by generous community donors. Jennifer Ritter, President and CEO of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, guided the evening with energy and warmth as emcee. Entertainment included a lively performance by Artistica Dance Studio and an inspiring keynote by Jenn Walker, who shared heartfelt reflections on resilience and the shared experiences of womanhood.

By the end of the night, the venue was filled with laughter, connection, and an undeniable sense of empowerment. Even the bar had to be restocked - a sign of just how vibrant the atmosphere was. A few men attended as well, joining in the spirit of celebration among hundreds of inspiring women. Thanks to the unwavering support of local partners and sponsors, Girls Night Out continues to be more than an event - it’s a community movement that celebrates women and helps create brighter futures for girls everywhere.
