Georgia Saarimaki’s 2019 Subaru WRX

We met up with one of our customers and asked her a few questions about her WRX. Check out our Q&A below & you can find Georgia on Instagram @cdnwrx

What made you choose the Subaru WRX for your first car?

I have always had a love for Subarus even though no one in my family ever owned one. I’ve also grown up always having a muscle car, classic car, or some sort of performance car in the driveway so I think the WRX suited me and my lifestyle perfectly. The one thing that made me one hundred percent sure I wanted a Subaru, was how safe they are. I feel totally comfortable in my car in even the worst conditions. All in all, I just love the company and the WRX in particular.

What are some of your favourite features of the WRX?

Once again, all the safety features are very important to me but cosmetic wise, I love the look of the WRX. I decided to put the STI wing on my WRX, despite the fact that I get the “it’s not an STI” comment all the time. I think that it’s the perfect size and design to make the car just that much more aggressive without being overkill. I love that the car handles like a performance car but can also drive like your average domestic car when you want it to, while also having all of the creature comforts that every other car has.

What are your future plans for this car?

Given that this is my first car I’m going to try to make it one of those cars that you have for the rest of your life, even if it just sits in the back of the garage in twenty years and goes out every now and then. For that reason I’m going to keep the car completely reliable, mechanically. Cosmetic wise in the next few years I’m planning on getting a few things on the exterior like a front lip, side skirts, maybe hood vents, just things that give the car a little more of an aggressive look. I’m planning on getting wheels and tires in the spring and lowering it a little. The thing I love about Subarus is that you can go in any direction with them. You can leave them stock, just add cosmetic mods that appeal to your taste, make it a show car, track car, or even lift it and make it an off roading vehicle. I just want to add a bit of my own touch to the car while leaving it pretty stock.

How does it feel to be a part of the Subaru family?

I love being part of the Subaru family. That’s one thing I love about Subaru is that it’s a very family based company. I have met so many amazing people through my WRX and I’m part of a Subaru group in Ontario called Boosted Boxers, that I would consider that group my “second family” now. I even love that when I see another WRX on the road, we all wave at each other with a simple peace sign. It’s just so fun to create relationships with people that started just because we drive the same car.
